Dr Neha Gupta, who is currently working as a Faculty at Jamia Millia Islamia, through the INSPIRE Faculty scheme of Department of Science and Technology(DST), Govt. of India, has recently been honored with INSA Medal for Young Scientist award in 2018 in the discipline of health sciences. INSA Medal for Young Scientist (YS) award has been instituted by the INDIANNATIONAL SCIENCE ACADEMY, for recognizing young scientist of extraordinary promise and creativity who have made notable research contribution. This award is given annually to distinguished young scientist, as evidenced by the research work carried out solely in India only.
The 2018 INSA YS medal awards felicitation was held during the INSA Anniversary General Meeting organized at Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), Ahmedabad from 26 th -28 th Dec, 2018.
Dr. Gupta, was also felicitated with INSA YS award, for demonstrating the novel mechanism of blood clot formation in veins under hypoxic environments, one of the common health problem faced by our Indian Army Jawans too. Dr. Gupta has her research interest in understanding, the mechanism, triggers and treatment for thromboembolic disorders. Her ongoing research activities aims to develop novel antithrombotic agents in association with Protein conformation and enzymology lab, Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Natural Sciences, JMI.
