New Delhi/Bangalore, August 31 (Musrat.com) Educationist and founder director of Iqra National School and well-known social figure Noor Ayesha said that Iqra International School Bangalore, a center of religious and contemporary studies and a confluence of ancient and modern education, has crossed a proud milestone with its first participation in Harvard Model United Nations (HMUN) 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious forums for young leaders.

She said that the program, organized in Bengaluru under the auspices of Harvard University students, brought together delegations from one percent of schools across India.

Representing Iqra International School were four delegates — Abdul Muiz, Muhammad Mahir, Muhammad Mahi Mazin and Muhammad Bilal — who raised their voices before these committees to present their views on some of the most pressing issues of the day. From freshwater and forest conservation at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNFPA) to the impact of climate change on women and children at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Iqra students delivered their speeches with confidence and insight. They also spoke to the Arctic Council on mining and indigenous rights, and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA) on the challenges of space debris and artificial intelligence.

She said that adding to this success, eight young students — Daaniya Nabeel, Mehreen Zara, Maryam Raikar, Samaya Binte Shinad, Muhammad Rayyan, Hashim Rayyan Sheikh, Isa Shazin, and Saad Tajammul — were selected as liaison officers. This rare honor gave them the opportunity to assist Harvard’s directors in managing the session, while gaining their first-hand experience of diplomacy. The organizers praised them as the best liaisons they had ever worked with – a testament to their preparedness and coordination.

Ms. Noor Aisha said that three delegates, Mohamed Mahir, Abdul Muiz and Mohamed Mahi Mazin, were further proud to have completed the Ban Ki-moon Center for Global Citizens online course, a pre-programme named after the former UN Secretary-General. The course focuses on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly climate action and environmental responsibility. For students, it offered rare insights into the role young people can play in shaping a sustainable future around protecting the ecosystem.

“This experience reflects our vision of nurturing every student to learn and live values,” said the leadership of Iqra School. “Through purposeful learning and opportunities like the HMUN and Ban Ki-moon courses, our students are being shaped not only into high achievers, but also into ethical and globally conscious leaders of tomorrow.”

The school highlighted that its global citizenship curriculum, introduced from Grade 1 to Grade 7, has been instrumental in preparing students for such platforms. By tying Islamic values with global awareness, the program fosters critical thinking, trust and cooperation. Iqra also emphasized the spiritual essence of this achievement, recalling the Quranic call to the Ummah to be khair-ul-ummah – the best communities – that are entrusted with the responsibility of leading humanity with compassion, justice and truth.

Ms. Noor said that with its debut at HMUN 2025, Iqra International School has set a strong example for continued participation in international forums. For the students, this experience has become more than just an academic achievement — it is a great moment that combines faith, knowledge, and leadership, preparing them to take their values to the global stage.

It should be noted that Ms. Noor Ayesha did her early education in Bangalore and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Swiss University of Technology, while she obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University, England. After working in England for a few years, she returned to India and established a world-class school in Bangalore called Iqra International. 650 children of this school have been awarded for quality education. In addition, it has been awarded as a trusted school.

In addition, academician Noor Ayesha is pursuing a postgraduate degree in higher education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education at the world-renowned Harvard University.
